Description

The National Youth Training Choir celebrates outstanding musical creativity by female composers, arrangers and songwriters across the ages with a dazzling programme crossing times, places and styles.

In the 50th anniversary year of her honorary Doctorate from the University of Oxford, the great musician and teacher Nadia Boulanger is celebrated with works by composers whose music she championed in pioneering performances and recordings.

The programme also features an improvisation created by the National Youth Training Choir on their residential course, based on an original plainchant by the iconic medieval composer and mystic, Abbess Hildegard von Bingen.
