Description

Inspired by NYCGB’s 2018 artistic theme of ‘music and the mind’, this stunning a cappella concert by the National Youth Training Choir shines a light on the mental states of history's great composers. Afflicted by intense and dark conditions, composers from Carlo Gesualdo to Anton Bruckner found the freedom they craved through music, with rich and strange results. The programme also celebrates the amazingly therapeutic beauty of contemporary choral music, with soul-soothing works by Eric Whitacre, Morten Lauridsen, Rihards Dubra and Malin Gavelin.
