The BBC has announced the release of a 'Virtual Reality Experience' film which will place viewers at the centre of the opening night of the 2018 BBC Proms.

The film will allow viewers to watch 'Five Telegrams' by composer Anna Meredith and production company 59 Productions, as performed on the opening night of the 2018 Proms at the Royal Albert Hall by the National Youth Choir, the BBC Proms Youth Ensemble and the BBC Symphony Orchestra under conductor Sakari Oramo.

The film will be premiered at Imperial College in London on 21 August 2018, with further public screenings to be held at events associated with 14-18 NOW, the UK-wide cultural programme marking the centenary of the First World War. Tickets to the premiere event are being made on a first-come-first-served basis on the day. Further information is available on the BBC Proms website.

The film will also be made available to home viewers with Oculus VR headsets in due course, with further headset/platform compatibility to be announced.
