NYCGB has welcomed Lynne Dawson and James Olley to its non-executive board of trustees.

Currently Head of Vocal Studies and Opera at the Royal Northern College of Music, Lynne Dawson is a renowned soprano whose versatile career encompassed Historical Performance, recital, chamber and operatic repertoire with leading symphony orchestras and opera companies worldwide, and more than 75 recordings.

Corporate advisor and strategist James Olley spent over a decade at Brunswick where he specialised in reputation management for some of the world’s biggest brands and businesses, and advised on major M&A and IPOs. He is now a founder member of the core team at corporate communications advisory Montfort.

Professor Christopher Higgins, Chair of the NYCGB Board of Trustees, said:

"We are delighted to welcome Lynne and James to our team of Trustees. Each brings invaluable skills and enthusiasm for singing and learning needed to support NYCGB in delivering its ambitions for our young singers over for the next five years.”

Paying tribute to departing Trustees Christine Speer, Richard Elder and Geoff Mountfield, Professor Higgins said:

“Christine, Richard and Geoff have completed terms as Trustees and their wisdom and advice will be sorely missed. All three remain firm friends and supporters of NYCGB and continue to support the choirs in other capacities. On behalf of our staff and young singers, past and present, I would like to thank them for their considerable work and contributions made with great diligence and professionalism."
