Tickets are on sale for the world premiere performance of 'The Great War Symphony' by Patrick Hawes, to take place as part of Classic FM Live at the Royal Albert Hall on Tuesday 9 October 2018, and featuring the National Youth Choir of Great Britain.

A major and emotionally-charged new symphonic work, 'The Great War Symphony' has been written to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War.

For this world premiere performance, the National Youth Choir will join forces with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the Invictus Choir, London Youth Choir, Berkshire Youth Choir, soloists Louise Alder and Joshua Ellicott, and musicians from the State Trumpeters and Band of the Household Cavalry, the Fanfare Trumpeters of the Royal Air Force, and the Corps Drums and Bugles of the Royal Marines. Also present via beamed-in screens will be the National Youth Choir of Scotland, the Cross Border Youth Choir (Ireland and Northern Ireland) and the choir of Ysgol Glanaethwy (Wales).

Compered by Classic FM presenters John Suchet and Margherita Taylor, the evening will also feature a wealth of other choral and orchestral favourites, and is held in aid of SSAFA, the armed forces charity supporting military families.

Tickets are on sale now from the Royal Albert Hall:
