Rich Batsford at the Edinburgh Fringe 2015

NYCGB alumnus Rich Batsford, who currently resides in Australia, will be performing at this year’s Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

 

His show Classically Chilled Piano will be running at theSpace @ Surgeons Hall (venue 53) from Tuesday 25 to Saturday 29 August. His performance begins at 1.25 pm and will last one hour.

NYCGB alumnus Jon Loomes is a maker of instruments (principally guitars and mandolins) as well as a performing musician.

His website contains fascinating details about his many creations and is well worth a visit.

Jamie Burton records Cole Porter with Sarah Fox

NYCGB alumnus, pianist, arranger, and all-round legend Jamie Burton has a new album out: The Cole Porter Songbook.

The CD features British soprano Sarah Fox in her solo recording debut, singing songs by Broadway songwriting legend Cole Porter. The album was recorded to coincide with the 50th anniversary of Cole Porter’s death.

Highlights include ‘In the Still of the Night’ from 'Rosalie', ‘I’ve got you Under My Skin’ from 'Born to Dance', and ‘I get a Kick out of You’ from 'Anything Goes'.
