Garth Pollard is a retired solicitor and was a partner in Clifford Chance, an international law firm, for 26 years and for ten years was the Executive Partner and Chief Operating Officer of the firm.

His particular legal expertise was in financial and taxation matters.

In his retirement Garth has chaired the boards of St Christopher School, Letchworth, and Suffolk Heritage Housing Association as well as being Deputy Chairman and, for a period, Acting Chairman of Birkbeck College, University of London as well as chairing the College’s audit committee. He has also served on a prison monitoring board. Currently he is a trustee of Aldeburgh Music and its Endowment Fund.

Garth has had a lifelong interest in music which he is able to indulge to the full in his retirement with time to go to plenty of concerts, opera and other musical events. In his professional life he acted for a number of musicians. His other interests include other art forms, theatre and the visual arts, as well as walking and travelling.
