Schools & Hubs Gillian Dickinson Young Singers Programme Young Singers Intensive: North East National Youth Choirs of Great Britain is delighted to invite young singers from across the North East to join us in Sunderland for an exciting, free weekend of activity. The Young Singers Intensive aims to support and encourage talented young singers in the region to develop their skills and progress with their singing. Young Singers Intensive: Saturday 30 April & Sunday 1 May, 10am-4pm, Sunderland City Hall In advance - two online sessions on Thursday 21 & 28 April (after school) Join other young people from across the North East who are passionate about singing for a weekend of activity learning new music and developing your musical skills. In advance, we will also have two preparation sessions online with the programme leader, Luke Mather, so that you can get to know us and start to sing some of the songs we will be learning together. Who is it for? All young people in Y6 - Y9 who love singing together in a group. Any voice type or range, both upper and developing lower voices, and any musical backgrounds. We will sing a wide range of styles and genres of music together. All singers who want to learn, develop their skills and try out new things. This programme is targeted at the North East region and is for young people who have missed out on opportunities for group singing and need encouragement to develop their skills. The programme is free for everyone and we will provide lunch and refreshments. There is support available for travel costs for those who otherwise would not be able to take part. What do young singers think? I enjoyed singing and making new friends who love to sing too.
