In her own words:

I was already an experienced Executive Assistant when I decided to pursue a lifelong ambition to study music. I am now a singer of folk songs and broadsides, as well as being a part-time Executive Assistant to the NYCGB team. I regularly perform at festivals and clubs in small vocal harmony groups based in Newcastle upon Tyne, where I studied Folk and Traditional Music as an undergraduate. I recently also completed a Masters degree, looking at social protest in vernacular song. As well as performing in groups, I also perform solo, feeling that the unaccompanied voice is a source of enormous strength.

My role at NYCGB allows me to combine my previous professional experience with my love of singing, and I'm particularly pleased to be working with an organisation focusing on young people, having missed out on musical education as a child.

For NYCGB:

Kate supports the NYCGB Executive team and Trustees on a part-time basis.
