Do you have an idea that can spark enthusiasm for music in classrooms across the UK?

ABRSM is looking for a simple and original idea for a musical challenge based on Carl Orff’s 'O Fortuna' (the first movement of his cantata 'Carmina Burana') to complete their free resource for primary schools, Classical 100.

The best idea will win a brand new Yamaha Clavinova CLP-635R digital piano for the entrant's school, and a credit on the Classical 100 resource.

About Classical 100:

Classical 100 features 100 pieces of classical music in a dynamic list, ranging from Bach to Bernstein and Handel to Haydn. Teachers can sort the music by mood, instrument, tempo and historical period, or in any other way that suits their group.

Each piece has its own 'challenge': an activity to complete by listening to, learning about and exploring the music. The challenges are fun and flexible enough to use in a number of ways – from short starter activities to longer pieces of work spanning several hours.

The challenges have been created by an expert team of music educators and professionals, and include several challenges devised by NYCGB. All challenges are designed to be accessible, and include guidance for teachers.
