Children who get free school meals now automatically qualify for a free NYCGB audition, and 100% assistance with the cost of travel to their audition.

To access the assistance, parents/guardians first tick a box on the online audition booking form which allows them to complete the booking free of charge.

They then submit the same qualifying information which they submit to get free school meals for their children, together with a record or estimate of their travel expenses to the audition.

Children who do not get free school meals may also apply for financial assistance towards the cost of their audition (£35) and travel. Assistance is awarded in bands, based on family income.

Overall, NYCGB offers financial assistance to 1 in 5 singers to help them with all costs of access and membership, including course fees, course travel expenses, and concert tickets for parents/guardians. The support is made possible by the generosity of individual donors, including former members of NYCGB, and numerous trusts and foundations.
