The London International Choral Conducting Competition, a new initiative curated by London chamber choirs Chantage and Coro, will award a first prize of £5,000.

The competition will be held at the Royal Academy of Music in London on the weekend of 20-21 October 2018 and is open to emerging choral conductors aged 18-32 from anywhere in the world.

Contestants will be assessed by an international jury panel which will award a first prize of £5,000 following two adjudicated rehearsals and an adjudicated concert performance. Chantage and Coro, founded and directed by NYCGB Alumni James Davey and Mark Griffiths, will be the choirs for all competition events.

The weekend will also feature masterclasses, a Gala Concert, and a guest appearance from Finnish chamber choir FREIA.
