Help More Young Singers to Hit the High Notes

We're launching our 2019 Christmas Appeal this December. With support from the NYCGB Alumni Champions Committee, and through generous donations from our supporters we're aiming to raise £15,000 so that more young people can take part in our life changing programmes and activities by participating in our 2020 courses and concerts.

Each year, NYCGB directly assists one in five aspiring young singers with the cost of auditions, course fees and travel. Without this help they wouldn’t be able to participate in NYCGB’s life changing experiences.

The appeal officially launches at 9am on Tuesday 3 December, coinciding with #GivingTuesday – the world’s biggest day of giving - and runs until midnight on Sunday 22 December 2019.

During last years' #GivingTuesday we raised over £2,500 and we're hoping that you, our generous supporters will help us to get off to an equally great start, and to achieve our overall target this year.

With 100% of all funds going directly to members, your donation will make a very real difference to the life of a young person.

Hear from our members about the difference financial support has made to their lives:

Money isn’t something that comes as easily to my family as it may to others. Without the funding, there wouldn’t have been a possibility for me to attend a course. I am so thankful for the bursary as I adore attending the NYCGB courses. The experiences that the courses consist of aren’t opportunities that can be found anywhere else. Being able to go and sing with so many people that share the same passion as myself is the most incredible feeling and I’m so glad that I have had this amazing opportunity.

Without the bursary I would not be able to attend the National Youth Choir courses, even though my mum is massively supportive of my music. She works full-time but is not well paid, and I have trombone lessons as well as singing lessons, and play in two city ensembles. Being able to be part of the National Youth Choirs has made me dare to believe that I could be good enough to make a career in music.

I would not be able to take part in these incredible courses at all without financial support. These courses have taught me so much and given me so many opportunities which I could never otherwise have. I feel so lucky to be able to learn and sing with such talented girls, teachers and people working in the music industry. I cannot express how grateful I am to be part of such an amazing group of people. These courses are the highlight of my year! Thank you so, so much!!!

You can donate from 9am on Tues 3 Dec until midnight on Sun 22 Dec via www.nycgb.org.uk or via Facebook.

Thank you.
