Financial Assistance Financial Assistance We offer financial assistance to help promising young singers from any background. Our aim is that no young person should be precluded from applying to join NYCGB because of financial barriers. Through grants and donations we are able to subsidise course places by an average of 33% for all members and offer further support through Financial Assistance Awards for help towards the cost of course, audition and membership fees. Financial Assistance Awards are initially based on household income. However, additional factors are considered such as number of siblings in the choirs etc. There is no static 'threshold' or cut-off point i.e. you don't have to be in receipt of benefits, or only earn a minimum income. A thorough assessment of each application is undertaken by a panel with Financial Assistance Awards approved for those considered to have the greatest need. If you would like to apply for assistance to help cover your audition, membership or course fees - and other expenses such as travel costs - please apply by the stated deadlines i.e. at least two weeks in advance of your audition, the date by which you're asked to accept your membership or book your course place. How to apply The online financial assistance application portal will be live from the time audition booking goes live (typically in September) until two weeks before the deadline for course registration (typically in January).
