Although a single ensemble, we divide the National Youth Choir (9-15 Years) - Female & Non-Binary into junior and senior sections. This means that we can train both groups in a more focused way, whilst also allowing juniors and seniors to rehearse and perform together in a supportive learning environment.

What we sing

We select our diverse repertoire to make sure that everyone, regardless of age or musical background, has a rewarding challenge as part of the National Youth Choir (9-15 Years) - Female & Non-Binary. The pieces we sing are varied and will challenge singers of all levels of experience in different ways. Our repertoire covers a wide range of musical styles to help singers develop musical literacy and awareness. The music can be set to texts in foreign languages. Concert music is often memorised for performance without copies, and selected pieces may involve choreography or stage movement. We include musicianship sessions on our courses to build and reinforce your pitching and rhythm.

Where we perform

The National Youth Choir (9-15 Years) performs both independently and collaboratively with other National Youth Choir ensembles and programmes at venues around the UK. Recent highlights include the world premiere of A short story of falling by Joanna Marsh plus special digital commissions Just Being ME  by Ben Parry and Open Your Mind with SK Shlomo. Previous highlights include appearances at Southbank Centre's Chorus Festival, world premieres of music by Jonathan Dove and Kerry Andrew, plus a music video shoot in the Yorkshire Dales!
