Legacy Giving

When you remember NYCGB in your will, future young people are enabled to access and benefit from our life-changing experiences for talented choral singers.

Since April 2012, if you leave at least 10% of your net estate to charity in your will, the Inheritance Tax rate on some of your assets can fall from 40% to 36%, directly benefiting your family and loved ones. Once they are provided for, even a small gift to NYCGB will make a big difference.

If you would like to leave a gift in your will to NYCGB, we recommend that you initially speak to a will-writing expert, such as a solicitor or someone from your bank.

If you would like to have a confidential discussion with someone from NYCGB about how you can direct your gift to a specific aspect of our work or let us know that you have pledged a gift to us, then please contact NYCGB's Director of Development, Rob Colbert:

How your legacy will support the future of choral singing

National Youth Choirs membership for a talented young singer.

1 in 5 of the children selected for the National Youth Choirs each year needs support with the costs of their auditions, course fees and travel. Your gift will provide that future support

New music to renew our national choral tradition.

Since 1983 we have commissioned new music from composers including Sir John Tavener, Sir Karl Jenkins, Jonathan Dove, Roxanna Panufnik and Kerry Andrew, now performed nationally by choirs of all ages. Your gift will fund future commissions by leading composers or emerging talent.

A first experience of singing for schoolchildren.

Music education is threatened in state schools, and many children never get the chance to discover their voice. NYCGB works nationally and in partnership to deliver singing workshops to state schools. Your gift will drive our future national outreach and impact.

A nation’s choirs are a pretty good measure of the pride it takes in itself. Thank goodness that with the National Youth Choirs as a pinnacle of excellence, Britain can hold its head up high. John Rutter, Composer & NYCGB President

This webpage is designed to give you general information about leaving a gift in your will to the National Youth Choirs of Great Britain (NYCGB). It is not intended to provide specific advice about the legal or tax implications of charitable giving. Before making a legacy gift to the NYCGB we recommend that you seek professional legal advice.
