A note about financial assistance

The audition fee for this year remains at £20 per audition. Financial assistance is available and anyone on free school meals can audition for free - find out more about financial assistance.

To access this support, tick the 'financial assistance' box when booking your audition and then fill out our online form

How to book an audition via My NYCGB

If you haven’t auditioned for the National Youth Choir before, your parent/guardian will need to create a ‘My NYCGB’ account to book an audition. If you have auditioned before, your parent/guardian will need to log into the account they created previously to book an audition.

Once booking has opened, your parent/guardian can book you an audition slot through their ‘My NYCGB’ account, choosing from a range of dates and times. These are offered on a first come, first served basis so don’t delay as some dates get fully booked up!

  1. Log on or register for a My NYCGB account. Once logged in, click on the Auditions section on the left-hand side.
  2. Select your preferred audition date and time for the choir that your young singer is eligible to join. All available time slots will appear so, if no slots are shown, the date is fully allocated; please select your next preferred date.
  3. Please complete all the required information to complete your booking. Either tick the box to state that you’re applying for Financial Assistance or make your payment of £20.
  4. You will receive a confirmation email for your audition booking. Please check your junk email if you have not received this.
  5. If you have forgotten your password, you can click on ‘Forgotten password?’ to reset it. This will send you an email to your registered email account. Please follow the instructions in the email and log back on.

I already have a My NYCGB account but want to book an audition for a different young person

  1. Log into your existing ‘My NYCGB’ account - do NOT select ‘Register’. Within the ‘Log in’ section, enter the email address to which this email has been sent and your password. (If you’ve forgotten your password, see relevant section below.)
  2. To add another young singer, who is not already a member of the National Youth Choir, select ‘Profile’ and then ‘Add Child’ to create a Profile.
  3. Under ‘Child’, select the name of the young singer who you want to book the audition for from the drop-down list; their name will appear when you scroll into the white box. Select ‘Switch’ to reach their Profile.
  4. Select ‘Auditions’
  5. Click ‘Available to Book’ alongside the audition date which is most convenient for your young singer.
  6. Complete the application form.
    • If you are applying for financial assistance, tick 'I would like to apply for financial assistance' and select ‘Complete Booking’. You will now jump to step 10 below but don’t forget to submit a financial assistance application form
    • If you are NOT applying for financial assistance, please select to pay the fee of £20.
  7. Click ‘Continue to Payment’.
  8. Your name (the parent/guardian’s) will appear; please add payment card details and postcode associated with the card.
  9. As audition fees are subsidised, if you’re able to do so, please add a donation and tick the ‘Gift Aid’ box if applicable.
  10. You should reach a screen with the message ‘Your audition is booked’ and you will be sent an email confirming this. You will later be sent full audition details including Zoom login instructions.

Forgotten your password?

  1. Visit the My NYCGB login page
  2. At the bottom of the ‘Log in’ section on the right-hand side of the screen, select ‘Forgotten password?’
  3. Enter the email address to which this email was sent. (NB You are not able to log in using any other email address so, if you need to update your email address, email [email protected] with details of your name, old and new email address.)
  4. Click the pink ‘Submit’ box
  5. In the email you receive, click on the blue box ‘Reset My Password’. This will take you to a new page where you’ll add, and confirm, a new password.
  6. Click the pink ‘Submit’ box.
  7. Log in
