National Youth Choir is building an inclusive community and we want to achieve meaningful and balanced representation in the sector. To this end, we strongly encourage applications from Black, Asian & ethnically diverse backgrounds, from those who identify as D/deaf or disabled, and men.

Working as a National Youth Choir staff member is a hugely rewarding experience. It is an opportunity to develop new skills and to support the ongoing work of the organisation, as well as experiencing all the fun and camaraderie that is part of any National Youth Choir course.

Our ideal candidate will be an energetic and motivated individual who is passionate about the work National Youth Choir does and is keen to support the growth and development of young people. We are also looking for people who can demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to be a good team-player. No musical experience is required.

A support scheme is in place to welcome and support new staff members into the organisation and onto their first course.

All course staff members receive food, board and travel expenses and each post attracts a fee which is relative to the staff role undertaken.

To Apply

Whilst we accept expressions of interest of working with National Youth Choir all year round, we are particularly welcoming applications for those wishing to be considered to join our freelance staff team for our summer residential courses.

We are operating a three-step application process

Step 1: complete our short ‘Expressions of Interest’ form by Friday 3 May

Step 2: Following the closing date, we will shortlist candidates for interview. Successful candidates will be asked to complete a second stage application form to gather further required information as part of our safer recruitment process for working with young people.

Step 3: Shortlisted candidates will be invited to interview, in person or online in the week starting Monday 6 May
