NYCGB isn't just for members. As a National Youth Music Organisation we want to get young people singing wherever we can, especially in schools. We also love working with teachers, helping them to become more confident singing leaders.

Ready Steady Sing! Singing workshops for schools

Generously supported by ABRSM

Our 'Ready Steady Sing!' workshops are action-packed singing workshops for Primary School and Primary-Secondary transition groups.

Taught entirely by ear with brilliant music including our signature 'mash-ups', Ready Steady Sing! workshops support 15 Musical, Physical and Developmental learning outcomes - and are guaranteed to get children of all levels of experience singing their socks off! We also offer 'Get Singing' participant tote bags with resources from NYCGB and ABRSM (charges may apply).

You can find out more and book a workshop by downloading our info flyer and contacting NYCGB's Widening Access & Engagement Coordinator Katie Lodge via the links below:

Regional partnerships

Since 2013 we've been working in partnership in regions where national statistics and our membership numbers indicate that there's a gap in singing provision. We team up with a strong local organisation, usually one of Arts Council England's Music Hubs, and work together to provide singing activities and events for young people, and training for teachers and leaders.

Our current active regional partnership is in Nottinghamshire. Together with our friends at Nottinghamshire Music Hub, Inspire Cultural Learning Partnership and Nottingham Royal Concert Hall we're working with a growing number of secondary schools in the county, raising standards, aspirations - and enjoyment!
